PyeongChang 2014 Signs Sponsorship Deal with Seoul City Government

Kim Jin Sun, Governor of Gangwon Province and Executive President of the PyeongChang 2014 Bid Committee, met with the Mayor of Seoul, Oh Se Hoon, to sign the ''2014 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games Bid Sponsorship Agreement'' at the Gangwon City Hall on 8 February.

The PyeongChang 2014 team will benefit from the experience of the renowned city of Seoul in hosting some of the biggest international events such as the 1988 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

As part of the agreement the city government will be promoting PyeongChang on banners and billboards around Seoul.

Oh Se Hoon, Mayor of Seoul said: "Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang is not only the wish of the residents of Gangwon province but also the aspiration of the whole country. The city government of Seoul will cooperate closely with Gangwon province in support of the bid. We are pleased to share our experience and know-how regarding major international events."

Governor Kim replied: "I am delighted with the support of the City of Seoul, which demonstrates that the country is united in backing our bid. We are committed to working to the best of our ability to bring the Games to PyeongChang."
