Sochi, Russia, February 20, 2007 - Olympic stars showed up in number last night to officially launch the Sochi 2014 Ambassadors Program at the brand-new Sochi Ice Rink during a filled-to capacity show before an overjoyed local crowd.

Reigning Olympic champion figure skaters, Evgeny Plushenko, Tatyana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, Tatyana Totmyanina and Maxin Marinin and the most-titled Russian female figure skater in history, Irina Slutskaya, took to the ice to perform in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Champions Ice Show to deafening cheers from the passionate crowd.

The Sochi 2014 Ambassadors Program will showcase the active support of some of the finest sporting and cultural icons in the world, who believe that Sochi 2014 presents an amazingly innovative technical Bid and that it will leave behind an unprecedented legacy for generations to come.

Torino 2006 men’s figure skating Olympic gold medalist, Evgeny Plushenko, said:

IOC member, four-time Olympic champion swimmer and Chairman of the Sochi 2014 Ambassadors Program, Alexander Popov, said:
