SportAccord Convention Selects Iconic Quebec Hotel

6/22/2011

The SportAccord Convention announced today that the main hotel for next year’s event in Québec will be the famous Fairmont Le Château Frontenac . Designated as a National Historic Site of Canada, the Château Frontenac is within easy walking distance of the Québec City Convention Centre in the heart of North America’s only walled city, where the SportAccord Convention will take place from May 20-25, 2012.

“The unique character of the city of Québec has encouraged us to hold our event next year in a convention centre rather than a hotel venue,” said Anna Hellman, SportAccord Convention executive director. “We will have the best of both worlds, with both abundant space and a sense of intimacy to encourage networking. The historic Château Frontenac is practically synonymous with Québec and makes a perfect complement to the Convention Centre, which is recognised as one of the very best in the world.”

Held in a different city every year, the SportAccord Convention celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2012. The Convention features top-level conference sessions and a dynamic exhibition as well as the annual general meetings of governing bodies of world sport.
