IFSC cancels three world cups in China, following the decision of the Chinese Government
On July 9, in the frame of the plan for the resumption of sport in China, the General Administration of Sport announced that, in principle, no international sports events will be held this year in the country, apart from the trials for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and a few other important events.
Following the announcement, and in accordance with the Chinese Mountaineering Association, the International Federation of Sport Climbing decided to cancel the three IFSC World Cup competitions scheduled in Chongqing, Wujiang and Xiamen between October 23 and December 6.
A decision regarding the IFSC Asian Championships, also scheduled in Xiamen from December 10 to 13, will come in due time.
