  • Poland's TVP is new broadcaster for IFSC European Championships

The IFSC has signed a deal with Poland state broadcaster TVP, to broadcast on its online platform selected events of the IFSC European Championships 2020, which start in Moscow today. It is the first time that TVP will broadcast an IFSC competition.

From November 21 to 25 the competition will crown European Champions in the three IFSC disciplines of Speed, Boulder and Lead, followed by a Combined competition on November 27 and 28 in which the final two European places for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be awarded.

IFSC President Marco Maria Scolaris commented:

"Poland is a very strong country in Sport Climbing, especially the discipline of Speed, in which they have multiple top-ten ranked athletes and former European and World Champions. Following the 2017 edition of The World Games in Wroclaw, Poland also holds a special meaning for Sport Climbing. We're very excited to begin a partnership with Poland's national and Olympic broadcaster."

Other broadcasters include BBC Online in the Great Britain and Sport5 in Israel, with Switzerland's SSR/SRG and Slovenia's RTV covering the Championships on a news access basis. As usual, The Olympic Channel will broadcast the semifinals and finals of all disciplines live.

The competition schedule is as follows:

Saturday, November 21: Speed Finals at 6:30 PM
Monday, November 23: Boulder Semifinals – Monday 23 November at 11:00 AM
Monday, November 23: Boulder Finals – Monday 23 November at 4:45 PM
Wednesday, November 25: Lead Semifinals at 11:00 AM
Wednesday, November 25: Lead Finals – Wednesday 25 November at 7:00 PM
Friday, November 27: Combined Qualifications from 10:00 AM
Saturday, November 28: Combined Finals from 3:50 PM

    All times are UTC+3:00.
