  • North And South Korea Agree On Cheers For '08 Beijing Olympics

North and South Korea, whose three-day meeting in Pyongyang this week marks just the third time their leaders have met since the countries were split over 50 years ago, today agreed to “send a joint cheering squad” to the ’08 Beijing Olympics. South Koreans “will be allowed to travel by train” to the Games through North Korea, and North Koreans “may also board trains for their part of the journey.” It will be the first time citizens of the countries can “travel abroad together” since the nations split (, 10/4).
