(ATR) Beijing 2008 now has an official oil to keep the wheels of the Olympics from getting squeaky. Great Wall Oil has been designated as the official lubricant for the Games, one of the many products of national sponsor Sinopec.
With an estimated 3,000 brands of oil in the Chinese marketplace, Sinopec is hoping the Olympic association helps it rise above the competition.
"As the world's premier sporting event, the Olympic Games will help Sinopec present its excellent products and services to the world," Song Yunchang, general manager of Sinopec's lubricant business told a Beijing news conference.
Sinopec, Asiaâ??s largest producer of petroleum products announced its national sponsorship of the 2008 Olympics and Paralympics last month. The deal includes the Chinese Olympic Committee and starts with the Turin 2006 Winter Games.
