(ATR) Possible sanctions against Bulgariaâ??s Ivan Slavkov is among the yearâ??s unfinished business for the International Olympic Committee as the ruling IOC Executive Board holds its final meeting of the year in Lausanne.
When it last met in August, the EB suspended IOC member Slavkov, who had been secretly videotaped by a BBC documentary on vote-buying in the contest for the 2012 Olympics. Further action against Slavkov, who is also president of the Bulgarian NOC, awaits a report from the IOC Ethics Commission.
Also this week the IOC Athletes Commission will meet separately and then jointly with the EB, as will the executive council of the Association of National Olympic Committees.
This week brings the debut of Timmo Lume, the new IOC Director of Marketing. Hired in August, Lume starts work this week in the Signy, Switzerland office of Meridian, the IOC marketing company.
