Korea Olympic Bids Wait for FIS Review
(ATR) An initial survey by the International Ski Federation is inconclusive as to whether the South Korean city of Muju has a high enough slope to support an Olympic Games downhill.
Now FIS will send a three-member inspection team to Muju in November for another look.
Whether FIS certifies the course proposed by Muju will determine whether it will get the nod from the Korean Olympic Committee to launch a 2014 bid.
Officials from rival Gangwon province, which bid for the 2010 Games, are standing by to bid again if Muju fails to win FIS certification.
