Architect Promises Roof to be Ready
(ATR) - The architect of the roof for the Olympic Stadium in Athens says the controversial project will meet the deadline to be ready for the Games. Santiago Calatrava says he is personally overseeing work on the roof and is confident of the progress being made.
Last month one of two arches for the roof nearly 300 meters wide and 70 meters high was slid into place; this week the second arch is expected to be moved into place, weather permitting.
The International Olympic Committee has said it expects the roof to be ready by the end of the month.
