Work in Athens Heats Up
(ATR) - With the flame for the Athens Olympics to be lit in less than a week, the heat is being applied to Olympic construction projects that are still lagging in the rush to completion.
Ministers of the new government in Greece are mounting pressure to step up the pace of construction on the stadium roof and transport projects to avoid the embarrassment of unfinished works this August. Meanwhile, leaders of the government, the Athens Olympics and the International Olympic Committee are making preparations to head to the birthplace of the Games - Ancient Olympia - for the March 25 ceremony to kindle the flame for the 2004 Games.
