Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) today announced the company has committed $500,000 to assist with relief efforts in Myanmar in the wake of the devastation caused by Cyclone Nargis and in China following this week's deadly earthquake.
Visa sympathizes with all those who have suffered from these disasters. To help with aid efforts, Visa is providing funds to the relief agency Oxfam America, which will allow Oxfam International to help deliver life-saving aid to many of the people severely affected by the disasters.
Oxfam International is a confederation of 13 organizations working together with over 3,000 partners in more than 100 countries to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. Oxfam America, an international relief and development organization, is part of this confederation.
