(ATR) The Christmas season has brought ice skating to the center of Olympic city Turin, courtesy of new worldwide sponsor GE.
The GE Ice Plaza opened this week at the Piazza Solferino and will be in operation through March and then opening again in November, to run through the Winter Games in 2006.
While GEâ??s TV network NBC has been a big player in the Olympics through its broadcast rights, beginning January 1 GE officially starts its eight-year run as a worldwide sponsor for the Games.
In Turin during the next year GE will be one of the sponsors for Torino Ice, a series of test events leading up to the Games. This summer, GE will sponsor summer entertainment at the Piazza Solferino.
