  • Turin Olympics Budget Crisis Nears Fix

    (ATR) The budget problems affecting the Turin 2006 Games may be solved this weekend, reports Mario Pescante, the government commissioner in charge of supervising the Olympics.

    "A solution is near," Pescante told the city council's Olympic committee during a meeting in Turin this week.

    "We are in a delicate phase of negotiations,� he told the council, indicating that agreements could be reached by this weekend.
