Turin Olympics: Sustainability Report
(ATR) Turin Olympic organizers say a new report on sustainability issues involved with the 2006 Winter Games ?brings out some comforting data?.
The so-called Strategic Environmental Assessment issued today is the first of three reports to be published assessing the impact of the Olympics on the city and region.
A statement from TOROC says the findings of the report ?show that the opening of the worksites has not impaired
the overall quality of the territory?.
Regarding the economic impact of the Games, the report says construction spending for 2004 will reach 478 million euros. In 2006, the Olympic Year, the report predicts commerce and public services will see a turnover of about 380 million euros.
