    11/14/03

(ATR) - Just four months after Vancouver won the 2010 Winter Games, the International Olympic Committee has wasted little time in making sure preparations for the Games start on a firm footing.

Three days of meetings organized by the IOC in Vancouver have brought together all the major stakeholders for the 2010 Games for briefings on the range of issues ahead for the next seven years.

In the opening day of the "Olympic Experience" seminar, nearly 200 movers and shakers from Vancouver filled a hotel ballroom to hear presentations from an array of Olympic experts, from IOC coordination commission chairman Rene Fasel to Canadian Olympian Ken Read and Canadian Olympic Committee president Mike Chambers.
