    SportAccord to Turkey

    Belek, Turkey will host the 2014 SportAccord Convention.
    Susesi Resort is the venue for the 2014 SportAccord Convention.

    The venue of choice is Susesi Resort in the Antalya region, one of the largest and most modern congress centers in the Mediterranean.

    “We are proud to be able to provide a superb location for SportAccord Convention in Belek/Antalya next year,” said IOC member, World Archery Federation president and National Olympic Committee of Turkey president U─čur Erdener, who will also head the Local Organizing Committee for the occasion.

    “Not only are the facilities excellent, the great natural beauty of the coastal setting will ensure that the first SportAccord Convention in Turkey will be a very enjoyable one.”

    Belek hosted the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final last year and will stage the Turkish Airlines Ladies Golf Open this year along with the 2013 World Archery Championships.

    “Our event in Belek/Antalya next year will enjoy the advantage of having a top-flight congress centre adjoining the main Convention hotel,” said Nis Hatt, Managing Director of SportAccord Convention.

    World Rugby Conference and Exhibition

    Registration is now open for the 2013 World Rugby Conference and Exhibition in Dublin, Ireland.

    The first annual conference will take place November 17-20.

    Bernard Lapasset, chairman of the International Rugby Board, will speak at the event.

    The conference aims to grow the sport of rugby and prepare for the legacy of the sport after its appearance in the Rio 2016 Olympics.

    International Football Arena, Zurich

    The 2013 International Football Arena conference in Zurich will take place Oct. 28 and 29.

    “The global world of football is moving fast. Sometimes one needs to take a break from the daily agenda in order to clear one's mind and exchange ideas with handpicked decision-makers from clubs, leagues, associations, sponsors, agencies and the media," says a statement from organizers.

    Topics for discussion include “What our Football can learn from American Football,” “The Red-Bull Project,” “The Power of Fans in the Age of Social Media” and more.

    City Events

    Dates and theme for the 2013 City Events Conference have been announced.

    Sessions will run November 13-15 in Lausanne. The theme of the conference is “Sporting Events in the Near Future.”

    The organizers for the event this year include GL Events Group and FISU.

    Confirmed attendees include National Olympic Committees, organizing committees, stadium operators, city representatives and more.

    IOC Session

    The 125th IOC Session will take place in Buenos Aires from Sept. 4 through 12.

    The IOC will decide the host city for the 2020 Olympics on Sept. 7 as well as the next IOC president on Sept. 10.

    The 2020 sports program will also be finalized at the Session.

    World Conference on Doping and Sport

    The fourth World Conference on Doping and Sport will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa from Nov. 12 to 15.

    A new version of the World Anti-Doping Code will be ratified by WADA at the event.

    “For this reason, members of the world’s anti-doping community are encouraged to attend this highly-significant event.”

    WADA stakeholders will be allowed to publicly comment on the proceedings during the conference.

    Soccerex has confirmed that its 2013 African Forum will be held Oct. 1 and 2 in Durban, South Africa.

    The event is expected to bring together more than 1,000 football decision makers focusing on the growth and development of African football.

    The president of the Ghana Football Association, and CAF executive board member, Kwesi Nyantakyi will speak at the event. Nyantakyi also guided the Ghananian U-20 side to victory at the 2009 U-20 World Cup.
