According to a report by Asahi Shimbun, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government disputes the findings and the IOC has not shown interest.

Yumenoshima Stadium, the future site of Olympic equestrian events, had a reading of .484 microsieverts per hour, .25 microsieverts above Tokyo’s standards for decontamination.

The citizen’s group noted Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium and Yoyogi Gymnasium as other venues with abnormally high radiation levels.

“The central and Tokyo metropolitan governments have not informed athletes and audiences around the world about data concerning possible radiation exposure,” said Takehiko Tsukushi, leader of the citizens group.

Tsukushi’s group measured Olympic venues in the Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Saitama prefectures, but could not cover every venue site.

The Tokyo metropolitan government insists that there is no problem. Currently, Tokyo monitors radiation readings through eight outposts in the city with no reports of high airborne radiation levels.

“We believe the data shows that radioactive materials have spread throughout the Kanto region, and that there are some hot spots within that wider area.”

    Boston Bid In Limbo

Boston’s bid for the 2024 Olympics seems to have reached an impasse.

The State House for Massachussets was supposed to approve a committee that would study all aspects of a 2024 bid. However, the State House News Service reports the deadline for the committee’s first meeting was Sept. 30, and the bill still has not faced a vote.

Bill sponsor Sen. Eileen Donoghue said she remained “hopeful” about the committee’s future, despite a lack of progress in its legislative approval process.

“We have our work cut out for us to get the studies done in time, especially since other cities like Los Angeles are expressing their interest,” she was quoted by the news service.

A report for the legislature is supposed to be presented by March 1, 2014.

The jersey heavily features the design of the Czech Flag featuring the national crest on the chest.

So far Canada, the United States, and Russia have all released new jersey designs from Nike.
