Alpine events would take place in the Jasna region of the Tatras Mountains, located in located in Slovakia. Krakow would host the ice events along with Zakopane.

A statement on the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOL) website says the bid will showcase “traditional Polish hospitality and openness to the world.”

Should the bid be successful, it would be the first time either Poland or Slovakia had hosted an Olympics. Zakopane bid for the 2006 Olympics.

Cities must submit their bids to the IOC by Nov. 14.
