After winning a gold medal in men’s 500 meter speed skating, the Netherlands now has a total of seven medals, three of them gold. They remain tied in the overall medal count with Norway. Russia’s recent victory in men’s team figure skating has earned the country its first gold medal of the Sochi Olympic Games.
History was made on Sunday when British Olympian Jenny Jones won a bronze medal in slopestyle snowboarding. The medal marks both Great Britain’s first medal in Sochi, and the first Winter Olympics medal Great Britain has ever won on snow.
