Claudia Bokel (ATR)
(ATR) As chairwoman of the IOC Athletes Commission, Claudia Bokel has a seat on the IOC Executive Board, bringing the voice of athletes to the forefront of the IOC decision-making body.
One of the biggest reform items for Agenda 2020, switching to an event-based Olympic Program from an event-based one, means she will evaluate the opinions of athletes from every discipline that might be cut.
Bokel will have a key role in shaping a potential German bid for the 2024 or 2028 Olympics. She is Germany’s only IOC member who can openly advocate for issues IOC President Thomas Bach is Germany’s other IOC member.
An active feature in the Olympic Movement, Bokel can be seen at nearly every Olympic-related event on the calendar.
