(ATR) As the IOC transitions to a new president in 2013, Director General Christophe De Kepper will be a bridge between administrations.
While he was brought to the IOC as chief of staff by Belgian compatriot Jacques Rogge, De Kepper will remain as director general when his boss retires in September.
As DG, De Kepper touches all areas of the IOC’s business. While primarily a behind-the-scenes figure, De Kepper will have a very public role at the IOC Session in Buenos Aires this September when he conducts the elections for the 2020 Olympic host and a new IOC President.
De Kepper, a lawyer by profession, leads IOC activities aimed at the threat of match-fixing, a growing priority for the IOC.
