Albert is number 19 in the Around the Rings Golden 25 for 2016. Now in its 20th year, the survey ranks 25 individuals or events expected to have a major influence on the Olympics in the year ahead.

Prince Albert turns 58 in 2016, giving him 22 years of service till age 80 retirement.

Arguably one of the most famous IOC members, the prince can easily draw attention to issues affecting the Olympics. And as the only IOC member who is head of state, Albert can take advantage of that connection, too, with open doors at world capitals and the U.N.

The prince chairs the IOC Commission on Sustainability and Legacy, formerly known as Sport and the Environment. He is a patron of Peace and Sport as well as the World Olympians Association. As a member of the Monegasque bobsleigh team, the prince has competed at five Olympics.
