Ashgabat 2017 have announced that globally known Balich Worldwide Shows will be producing the opening and closing ceremonies for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Polimeks, the Turkish construction company that built the Ashgabat Olympic Complex, will be responsible for the delivery of the ceremonies.
The Chairman of 5th AIMAG Executive Committee, Dayanch Gulgeldiyev said: “The Games will be historic moment for Turkmenistan, as Ashgabat 2017 will be the first major multi-sport event to be hosted in Turkmenistan. Our aim is to deliver the best ever AIMAG, and the experience and talent that Balich bring to the table will play a part in our success.”
Balich Worldwide Shows is an Italian–based firm, leader in the entertainment production market. BWS creates and produces large-scale events, from Olympic Ceremonies to national celebrations, from permanent shows to entertainment icons all over the world. Balich’s Olympic experience includes the iconic ceremonies for Torino 2006, Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 (produced by Cerimonias Cariocas 2016) and the Flag Handovers of Salt Lake City 2002, London 2012 and Tokyo 2020.

The Ceremonies will be held at the newly built Ashgabat Olympic Stadium. The 45,000 seater venue located at the center of the complex is a one of a kind facility and will leave a long lasting legacy for Turkmen sports, especially as a football and athletics venue. The stadium, designed and built by Turkish architectural and construction company Polimeks, has already become an icon of the city thanks to its unique look and the towering statue of the akhal-teke horse, a traditional Turkmen symbol.
