(ATR) Break dancing, futsal and field hockey are among the newbies on the just-released schedule for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.
Competition for the YOG will be spread out over 12 days in four main clusters. Additional sports will be held in the Buenos Aires area. Shooting, in the Tecnopolis Park, will be the first sport to award medals kicking off the YOG.
Buenos Aires 2018 released the full competition schedule as part of the 150 days to go to the YOG celebrations.
Three sports will have competitions during 10 of the 12 days of the YOG: beach volleyball, gymnastics and 3x3 basketball. A total of 32 sports will feature in the third Summer YOG.
Visitors to Buenos Aires can purchase a Youth Olympic Pass which gets them into any of the competition events for free. The pass comes in the form of a wristband with a “digital chip” embedded into it granting entry to competition areas.
In total Buenos Aires says there will be 286 competition sessions with 1,250 medals awarded.
