USA Luge is teaming up with White Castle to find America’s next best “slider”.
The fast food restaurant serves as the “off-season recruitment program” sponsor for the national governing body.
Together the White Castle USA Luge Slider Search will tour around the U.S. attempting to unearth new talent for the NGB. Starting this week in Ohio, the tour will visit nine cities across the country through the summer.
The search will focus on children aged 9-13, looking for future members of the junior development team. USA Luge says that national and Olympic team members will serve as coaches at the clinic.
“The White Castle Slider Search is critical to finding luge athletes to represent the United States who will someday go for the gold,” Gordy Sheer, USA Luge Director of Marketing and Sponsorships, said in a statement. “A morning or afternoon of trying something fun and new could be the first step down a path to glory."
