International consultancy Trivandi celebrates five years with major new hire
UK-based international events and venues consultants Trivandi has appointed Neil Wood MBE to its Board with immediate effect. Wood is a former partner at Deloitte and has over 30 years’ experience advising Boards across a number of industries. From 2007 until 2013, Neil was the CFO and Executive Board Director of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Prior to that he was the CFO for the London 2012 Bid Company.
Wood joins Trivandi at an exciting time for the organisation, as it celebrates its 5th anniversary this week. With over 35 assignments in 18 countries already during its short history, Trivandi has established itself as a big hitter in the world of major events and venues projects.
“It doesn’t feel like an exaggeration to say this feels like the equivalent of a football club signing Cristiano Ronaldo,” said James Bulley, Trivandi Chief Executive. “There are few people in the world right now who have the kind of experience he can bring to the table – his expertise in major projects, financial good practice and good governance are second to none. We’ve been on quite the journey in the last five years and with Neil’s help we look forward to expanding the UK’s reputation for delivering major events and venues across the globe.”
Wood is looking forward to helping advise on the next chapter for Trivandi. “When you’ve worked with people on an Olympic and a Paralympic Games for so long, you get to know them well and so when the opportunity arose to be part of the Trivandi story, I didn’t hesitate. James and the team have created an extraordinary success story for the British events industry already and hopefully I can help them take that to another level. It’s a fascinating time in terms of major events around the world, whether that’s World Expos or Olympic Games. It’s a fast changing environment and that’s why Trivandi are doing so well. I can’t wait to get started.”
Born out of the senior venues team of London 2012, Trivandi has worked on projects for the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 and Tokyo 2020 as well as the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the recent successful Birmingham 2022 bid. It has worked on projects across sport including the Tour de France, Superbowl 50 and America’s Cup; as well as major infrastructure projects such as the Eden Project, Twickenham Stadium and Expo 2020 in Dubai.
Trivandi’s expertise ranges from venue project management to event planning and operation for global mega events. Their 5th anniversary also sees a refreshed corporate identity and website.
