  • Fynske Bank Multisport World Championships Festival's Kicked off in Denmark

    07/10/18

It’s kicked off! The island of Fyn is buzzing with excitement for the Fynske Bank Multisport World Championships Festival, and here, there’s something for everyone: The festival is commandeered by a driven team of officials, hundreds of volunteers, as well as thousands of participating athletes from all over the world.

Elites, Juniors, Para Athletes, Under-23’s, Open Race Athletes and Age Groupers ranging from 16 to 88 years of age will partake in five challenging disciplines of multisport: Duathlon, Aquathlon, Aquabike, Cross Triathlon and Long-Distance Triathlon.

The festival is not only encompassed by the exciting multisport disciplines. Side events include, but are not limited to, a bustling expo-area in which exhibitors will present the latest products and services in the areas of triathlon, outdoor and lifestyle, and much, much more.

Odense, the city of fairytales and Hans Christian Andersen, hosted the Duathlon on July 6, and the Elite Men’s World Champion, Andreas Schilling, could not have been happier to pull off such an amazing feat on home turf, being a Danish native: “It was amazing! Every 10 meters, there was a person I know, cheering for me - so I just got a major boost every time. It’s so amazing to win the gold medal on home soil!”

Stunning events await in Svendborg and Middelfart as they host the Cross Triathlon and Aquathlon disciplines, respectively. Subsequently, Odense once again hosts, as Aquabike unfolds on the penultimate day of the event, prior to the Long-Distance Triathlon on the final day of the festival.
