Copa America : Brazil the new champion
Brazil is the new champion of the CONMEBOL Copa America, after winning 3-1 to Peru, at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, on Sunday, July 7.
The goals were scored by Everton (15'), Gabriel Jesús (48') and Richarlison (43 ', penal). For Peru, Paolo Guerrero discounted the penalty (44 ').
It was a match in which Brazil and Peru played with the same starting eleven that they used in the semifinals against Argentina and Chile, respectively.
On the one hand, Gabriel Jesus, Roberto Firmino and Everton commanded the attack of the Canarinha, while Paolo Guerrero made it as the only striker in the Inca team.
In this way, Brazil won its ninth crown in the CONMEBOL Copa América, achieving the title without defeats and with only one goal received in the six matches that it played. La Canarinha did not reach a Copa América final since his reign in Venezuela-2007.
Peru returned to a final after 44 years, looked for third continental title, after the ones achieved in 1939 and 1975.
