BCV partners with Lausanne 2020 and reaffirms its commitment to promote sports amongst the youth
Lausanne 2020 and BCV, the leading bank in Canton of Vaud and one of the largest in Switzerland, have made their partnership official today. As a sponsor of the region's major cultural and sporting events and sports clubs, BCV is now supporting a world-class event, organised for the youth by the young people of the region.
Sport is an essential part of people’s life in Vaud. Alongside the cultural and social spheres, sport holds an important place in BCV's sponsorship policy. Indeed, the bank supports various local teams, including the Lausanne Hockey Club (LHC) since 1987, and the Football Club Lausanne-Sport since 2011. It also provides financial support to the stars of tomorrow, who train at the Cantonal Football Association of Vaud (ACVF), the Mérite Sportif Vaudois and the Fondation d'Aide aux Sportifs Vaudois. BCV is also involved in popular events such as the famous 20 km of Lausanne - since its first edition – as well as a multitude of other local events.
Today, it becomes the official partner of the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games taking place in Lausanne and across the region from January 9 to 22, 2020, therefore reaffirming its commitment to events that convey strong positive values to young people.
Pascal Kiener, CEO of BCV: “As the leading bank in Vaud Canton, we are pleased to help support the 2020 Youth Olympic Games, an event that gets young people involved in the Olympic Movement and which is held in Lausanne, home to the IOC. Young people are important to us at BCV. We offer them an array of banking services tailored to their needs and budgets. We also play an educational role, employing around 100 students and trainees every year. And through our sponsorship program, we support many of the sporting, cultural, and social events that are so popular among Vaud’s young people.”
Ian Logan, CEO of Lausanne 2020: "I would like to thank BCV for their support and their trust. It is always a great pleasure to see that leading organisations in Switzerland are actively involved in such projects for the youth and contribute to the development of sport in our regions. It also gives us great confidence in the pursuit of our mission, which is to create new talents and vocations. I am truly delighted with this prestigious partnership."
