AKTO launches the world's first e-learning platform dedicated to the sports industry

The world’s first e-learning platform dedicated to the sports industry was officially launched today at the United Nations endorsed National Youth Forum in Cape Verde. The platform is designed to help young people from the age of 16, in particular those from developing countries including Africa, South America and the Middle East, to find the right path to their dream job.
AKTO aims to inspire young people through certified content, a gamification approach to learning and concrete job opportunities. It is one of only a handful of e-learning platforms in the world to use internally produced content built and certified by experts within the sports industry.
The learning covers all aspects of the sports industry including marketing, finance and governance. It is pitched at various levels such as vocational training to prepare for entering work and pre-learning for a bachelors or masters degree.
Much of the training is in the form of animated videos designed to make learning fun. This gamification approach to learning - combined with an advanced algorithm and digital loyalty mechanics - stimulates continuous participation and encourages the learning effort of the student therefore avoiding the huge drop out issue found in many other e-learning platforms.
AKTO is also the first e-learning platform to offer concrete opportunities to create direct relationships with potential employers in the sport business including properties, clubs and federations. All students are evaluated on performance and engagement, with the top ranked students eligible for internship or job interview opportunities.

AKTO was launched at the National Youth Forum in Cape Verde - an event organized by the Secretary of State of Cape Verde and directly endorsed by UNPD (United Nations Development Programme).
The beta testing of AKTO is also endorsed by the Cape Verde Government, the University of Cape Verde and the country’s entire sports ecosystem. This means the model can be tested and scaled internationally. The roll out includes Portugal at the end of 2019, Brazil in Q1 2020, Mexico and other LATAM countries in late 2020, Rest of Africa and the Middle East in 2021, followed by India and China in 2022.
