World Para Powerlifting launches Dartfish.TV educational channel
As part of its ongoing commitment to support athlete development and officiating proficiency, World Para Powerlifting launched a Dartfish.tv educational channel earlier this month.
At every major competition, World Para Powerlifting films the lifts of each athlete from multiple technical angles using Dartfish. After uploading it to the educational channel, the video is tagged with searchable keywords: the athlete’s name, country, bodyweight and lift decision.
With the channel launch, World Para Powerlifting educational programmes will greatly benefit lifting technique. And adjudication videos will already be integrated into face-to-face technical courses for officials and coaches.
"We’re incredibly excited to see the launch of our channel,” Jorge Moreno, Head of World Para Powerlifting, said.
“We truly believe it’s going to be a gamechanger for our sport, benefiting athletes, coaches and technical officials from all over the world, from the grassroots to high performance level. No matter a country’s size or budget, they have equal access to performance analysis,” Moreno added.
Egypt’s three-time Paralympic champion Sherif Osman said:
"I use the channel during each training session. It’s an amazing tool that enables me to review and continue to refine my lifting technique.”
Also, through Dartfish.tv, technical officials are able to apply their lift judgement skills in any session and can browse content relevant to specific scenarios for accurate and consistent decision making.
The World Para Powerlifting channel is available to all athletes, coaches and technical officials at no cost, and is accessible worldwide with an internet connection at www.Dartfish.tv/ParaPowerlifting.
"This is an important step forward for the development all countries,” said Louis Habimana of Rwanda. “We are committed to growing the sport in our country and the channel allows the athletes and coaches to study the top athletes in the sport right from their mobile phones.”
Dartfish TV is a video-sharing platform providing unique control over content access and navigation. Thanks to sequenced clips and powerful filters, combined with the Dartfish analysis solution, you get powerful video analytics.
