Executive Education Trend Reaches Sports Industry
Executive education and CPD have become industry-wide trends in everything from programming to the creative arts. Identifying the need for similar courses in the sports industry, sports education provider InSport Education has today launched its first sports-specific executive programme with the Football Executive Course.
The InSport Education Football Executive Course, which is scheduled for April 23-24 at Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC, in London, offers real-world learning for executives working in the sports industry who are looking to accelerate their career in football. The course faculty includes some of the most respected academics and senior executives from the football industry including:
Dame Heather Rabbatts has a long-standing record in football, including becoming the first female non-executive on the Board of the FA and chief Executive of Millwall FC. She has also developed leadership programmes with UEFA and worked with FIFA on challenging racism and campaigning for greater diversity
Lord Colin Moynihan, former UK Minister for Sport, Chairman of the BOA and current Vice-Chair of the all-party parliamentary group on eSports
Professor Simon Chadwick, Director of Eurasian Sport at emlyon Business School, the global top-50 business school
Dr Daniel Parnell, Senior Lecturer in Sport Business Management at the University of Liverpool Management School, CEO of the Association of Sport Directors and co-founder and Chair of The Football Collective
Speaking about the importance of on-going education in sport, Dame Heather Rabbatts commented:
“Today’s sports executives have a thirst for knowledge and InSport Education offers an intimate environment for ambitious executives to engage with, and learn from, seasoned industry practitioners with real-world experience at the top end of the industry. It’s incumbent on employers to support and encourage this wider learning and the InSport Executive Course is the ideal platform for those looking to take the next big step forward in their career.”
Content for the two-day Football Executive Course has been developed in partnership with Dr Rob Wilson, an expert in Sport Business based at Sheffield Business School, and covers many of the key opportunities and challenges facing the football industry today including the rise of OTT and DTC, eSports, building high performance culture, new media rights and the continuing rise of women’s football.
The Football Executive Course also includes dinner in the House of Lords hosted by Lord Moynihan.
Backed by venture fund Station12, InSport Education has already delivered several successful student courses which have attracted sports business students from across Europe, the USA, and Asia.
