ATRadio: Ice Hockey Fed President Rene Fasel
(ATR) This weekend was to mark the beginning of the 2020 International Ice Hockey Federation men’s world championships. The opening match was set for the Olympic capital of Lausanne, Switzerland in a brand-new arena that debuted in January for the Winter Youth Olympic Games.
But as with every other major sport event in 2020, the coronavirus forced a change in plans. Organizers of the tournament and the Federation pulled the plug in March as the pandemic took hold.
In this edition of ATRadio, IIHF President Rene Fasel talks about the impact of the pandemic and how hockey will recover with ATR’s Brian Pinelli, based in Prague.
